Our 2013 trip to the Ministry of Mercy orphanage, Nigeria, went well.  It was a blessing to see the work the Lord has done and the progress that the children have made in regards to their health since the first time we visited in 2006.

During our 1st visit to M.O.M, we established a need for the following: adequate housing, a play area for the infants and toddlers, a medical clinic that is able to supply medicine and vaccinations in addition to medical care, a security wall and a home for Daniel and Esther (Orphanage Directors) and other caregivers.

Thanks to your generous donations much has been accomplished.

The Ark, dedicated in 2011, now provides a fantastic environment for day care activities for the younger children as well as the residential area for Daniel and Esther. The security wall in Otutulu was just finished a few days before our visit in July 2013. Your consistent monthly contribution also provides for the basic needs of food and school scholarships for the children as well as the wages of the hired staff.  Two new buildings are now functional at the Lokoja location. One of them was completed earlier this year.

All glory to God!

Project Vision

Since  our  return, God has placed on our heart to stand firm on the vision of  The Noah’s Ark project; to press on toward creating a comfortable home environment for all the children, with more caregivers equipped to instill biblical parenting to the children they are in charge of. By doing this, we directly respond to the call our Lord Jesus gave us to spread the Gospel and to make disciples.

•         Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”(Matthew 28:16-20)

•         Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

The purpose of “The Ark” was to provide a safe haven for the infants and toddlers. Let’s extend the vision to all children in the orphanage. Let’s imagine the following:  All of the boys and girls living in fully furnished bedrooms, having a comfortable place to live, rest and study; Children listening to worship music broadcasted in the dorms or learning more about their Savior and Lord Jesus Christ by reading their own copy of the Holy Bible; More teachers and aunties (caretakers) added so that each child will have someone to care for him/her and listen to him/her.

God willing, we will soon launch a plan of renovation of the boys and girls dorms in Otutulu as well as the house/ apartment for the hired single staff living on-site.

Another step is to convert some storage areas of the current boys’ dorm into a doctor’s office and God willing, as Zoya Ministries partners with AVTHS in Nigeria, a small medical team will travel periodically to M.O.M. to provide medical care to the residents of the orphanage.

A lot has been accomplished in Otutulu since 2006.

God gave Zoya Ministries the vision of the Noah’s ark project and he was faithful all along the way to provide the energy and resources to fulfill it.

A lot of work still lies ahead of us. But the Ark building, dedicated in 2011, and so dear to our co-founder Karen Abebefebe, is our Ebenezar to remember that ‘Till now the Lord has helped us’.

Please contact us, as the Lord leads you to help the Noah’s Ark project.

You can make a difference to help sustain life in Otutulu.

We thank you for your prayers and support.
